Learn HEXACO — a new way to actually learn the model. A book icon in the header opens an interactive web of bite-sized, visual lessons: start at the center with the foundations, pass a short quiz, and watch the six factors unlock and light up around you. Each lesson ends with a quick knowledge check, earns mastery stars, and links out to the full write-up. Your progress is tracked, and the map always points you to the next lesson.

A home base when you sign in. Hexis now opens on a dedicated home page that greets you and points to what’s worth doing next — pick a lesson back up, finish a test you started, or take (or retake) your own — with quick links to your profiles, lessons, circles, and insights.

Dig into the facets. Every factor in both the distribution and the mean profile now expands to show the same breakdown for its four facets, and Altruism gets its own row — so you can go from the six-factor overview all the way down to the fine grain.

Your circle’s aggregate now leads with the distribution — how your people spread across the five bands on each factor — and crowns the median band right on it, so you can see the typical read and its shape at a glance. The mean profile sits just below.

Start on your phone, finish on your laptop. Tests and lessons now save your progress as you go, tied to your account — so if you stop partway, a “Continue” option is waiting wherever you next sign in.

Fewer distractions while you focus. Taking a test or working through a lesson now tucks away the header, footer, and navigation so nothing competes for your attention — with a clear way out (and a quick “are you sure?”) whenever you want to step away.

Announcements — a new home for what’s changed. A megaphone in the header lights up whenever there’s something you haven’t seen, and one page now gathers both notable announcements and the running list of features, improvements, and fixes. It replaces “What’s new” (old links still work).

Hexis can now tell you about new features. Opt-in announcement emails and browser notifications let you hear when something worth trying ships — on by default once you’ve accepted the updated policy, switchable per channel (or off entirely) in Settings, right alongside your other notification controls.

The header carries a shortcut straight to your profiles and quietly underlines whichever section you’re in — including deeper pages like a specific profile or a comparison.

More life in the interface: pages ease in as you move between them instead of snapping, the hexagon lattice drifts gently as you scroll for a sense of depth, and a profile’s results count up from zero, each bar filling and each number climbing in turn.

Clearer factor write-ups. Each of the six HEXACO factors is now described by what a high or low score genuinely means overall, without assuming how its underlying facets fell — so a high-Emotionality read no longer presumes you’re anxious when you might simply be deeply attached.

Profiles now lead with the nickname you gave someone, with their real name just beneath, and comparisons use the nickname too. You can still search by either name.

Sharing your own profile is now a proper dialog that respects your visibility settings — copy your link, hand out auto-approving invite links when you’re set to “by request,” and, when someone has guessed you, share back to compare in a click (it can even flip you off “private” if that’s what’s in the way).

The “Get started” cards are fully clickable now, the first step leads to the test chooser (take it on Hexis or import your own), and its button reads “Take Test” or “Retake Test” to match where you are.

The number on each profile card is now labelled “read accuracy” — how close your read of that person came to their verified result — rather than a bare percent, and a redundant tag was tidied away.

“Complete your profile” now appears for quick-test results too (alongside the go-deeper option) and lays out cleanly on phones.

More moments give clear feedback while they work, and buttons disable themselves so a result, an invite link, or an approval can’t be sent twice by accident.

Updated our Privacy Policy to cover the new announcement emails and notifications, which are only ever sent to people who’ve agreed to them.

Hexis has a real front page. Arriving signed out now means a proper introduction — what Hexis is for, why a measure built on real research beats a for-fun quiz, an interactive taste of ranking your circle by any trait, and a quick tour of the six factors — instead of a bare sign-in screen. Members land there too (no forced redirect) and can head straight to their profiles.

Notifications — a bell in the header now collects everything happening around you: access requests (with Approve/Reject right there), approvals, claimed guesses, and guesses made about you. Turn on browser notifications for pop-ups, and choose per event whether each also reaches you by pop-up or email — everything’s on by default and the in-app bell always keeps the full record.

Hexis can email you. You’ll get a note when someone requests your results, approves your request, claims your guess, or guesses you — plus when our policies change. Each is independently toggleable in Settings, with a one-click “unsubscribe from all emails,” and a “Manage emails” link in every message.

Your name and picture now start out visible to your connections — the people you’ve shared results with — rather than hidden from everyone. It mirrors the by-request default, and your three privacy choices (name, picture, and results) stay fully independent, so you can still lock any of them down on its own.

Clearer, stronger Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — plain-language sections, an explicit “what Hexis isn’t” (not a clinical or diagnostic tool), a spelled-out list of the services we rely on, and a fuller account of your data rights and how to use them.

Send a guess straight to someone on Hexis. When a profile is linked to their Arachnida account, “Send directly” is the main action — your guess lands in their notifications and inbox — with copying a link kept as the fallback.

Open someone’s page and already keep a profile for them? You’ll now get a direct link to it instead of being offered to import them again — even if you can’t see their results.

We’ll offer to turn on browser notifications once per device, shortly after you’re in — accept or dismiss and we won’t ask again on that device; it stays adjustable in Settings.

Asking to see someone’s results now shares your name with them, so they know who’s requesting before they decide — and you’re told that up front.

A clear agreement step: before using Hexis you’ll review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and we’ll ask again if they materially change.

Notifications no longer reveal a name the person has chosen to keep private. If someone’s name is hidden from you everywhere else, an alert about them now reads “Someone” too — the one deliberate exception is still requesting access, which always tells the other person who’s asking.

The header bell’s unread count now updates the instant you read a notification, instead of lagging behind.

Build your full profile one factor at a time. After the quick test you can now go a single factor deeper — about 40 questions — whenever you feel like it. Each one unlocks that factor’s four facets and its facet-by-facet accuracy; finish all six and they combine into one complete IPIP-HEXACO result. No 240-question wall.

More motion polish: the “Import as a profile” panel now grows open with a height transition instead of popping and shoving the page, and the guess-claim button catches the eye with a subtle sheen.

“How close their guess got” is now a graded score: an exact band counts full, within one band counts half, further off counts nothing — so a single near-miss reads about 50%, not a flattering 100%. The exact / within-a-band / further-off breakdown is shown beneath it.

Profile similarity now goes facet-deep: for any factor where both profiles have its four facets, it compares those facets (not just the factor), and Altruism is folded in (as a quarter-factor) when both have it. Where facets aren’t available it falls back to the factor, so quick results still get a number.

Guess-link polish: a link is now private to the person it’s about (once they claim it, no one else can open it, and opening your own link just jumps to that profile), you can send a guess with as little as a single trait set, and the test chooser always leads with the full IPIP-HEXACO.

When you send someone your guess about them, the link can now carry your own verified results too — it’s on by default, one click to turn off, and isn’t offered when your profile is set to private. The moment they take the test you can both compare, and (unlike a permanent share) that access expires right along with the link.

Claiming a guess now opens the door both ways: you’re invited to start — or reuse — a profile for the person who guessed you, so you can read them back or guess them in turn. Their Arachnida account is only linked in if they chose to share their results with you.

“How close their guess got” is smarter. It now reports within-one-band accuracy at the finest level your results support — facet by facet when you have facets, otherwise across the six factors — so even a quick result gets a real number instead of a blank.

You can share anyone you’ve linked to their Arachnida account, not just your own profile — a Share button now sits on linked profiles, and the other person’s own visibility settings still decide what a viewer can see.

A bell in the header shows how many people are waiting on you to approve their request to see your results, so you’ll notice without digging through Settings.

Settings polish: pending access requests sit up top, revoking a viewer asks you to confirm — with their name and Arachnida ID — and the lists ease in and out instead of jumping.

“How close their guess got” no longer rounds itself up. A trait someone guessed through its facets is now scored like any other, so the headline reflects every factor you can see on the chart instead of quietly skipping some and landing on a too-flattering 100%.

A factor you guessed directly now reads as a firm estimate, not an assumption, in speculation comparisons — and the verified marker in the key matches the dot used on the chart.

Two results recorded on the same day now keep the right order in your verified-results history.

Take the test on Hexis. You can now answer the public-domain IPIP-HEXACO right here — a quick six-factor run to get started, or the full facet-level version for the complete picture. Because you take it on the site, the scores are computed for you and can’t be hand-edited, so a result you share carries its own proof you didn’t tweak it. (A licensed HEXACO-PI-R option is on the way.)

Sort your profiles by any HEXACO factor — line everyone up from most to least agreeable, conscientious, extraverted, and so on, with your own profile ranked right in among them. Each trait sits under “By factor” in the sort menu and defaults to highest-first.

Delete individual past versions from your speculation history.

When someone shares a guess about you, claiming it now opens your side of the loop: see their read, take the test, then choose whether to share your results back. Once you do, you both see — facet by facet — how close they got. Every guess made about you also lives on your profile under “Guesses about you,” so you can always find your way back (while the link lasts).

Results now wear a badge showing exactly where they came from — taken on Hexis (the credible kind) versus recorded or imported from your own files — and a result older than a year is flagged as stale so you know when it’s worth retaking.

Scores read as percentiles across the app, so results from different tests and comparison groups line up on the same 0–100 scale — including on “Results over time.”

Had an off day? Make any earlier result your current one without deleting the rest — your profile, scores, and badge follow your choice, and a fresh test always becomes current automatically.

The Feedback dialog now lists your browser among the details shared with a report, so what’s disclosed matches what’s actually sent.

Your profiles list now glides instead of jumping: cards ease into their new spots as you search, filter, sort, or switch between card and list view, and the filter panel slides open and closed.

Recording results from hexaco.org is far more forgiving — it now reads rotated screenshots, phone photos, compressed or low-resolution images, dark-mode captures, and very high scores that run off the edge of the chart.

Recording results pre-fills the comparison group and today’s date, so there’s less to fill in.

“Compatibility with you” is now “Similarity to you” — it measures how alike two profiles are, which (per the research) is not the same as, and doesn’t predict, relationship compatibility.

Trait insights now shows what each ranking measures — its description and the HEXACO correlations behind it — right above the results, with a gentle transition when you switch rankings.

Manage past verified results more easily: older results collapse into tidy rows with their own delete, and you can delete any result straight from “Results over time.”

Clearer menu labels — “Compare” is now “Compare Profiles,” and “History” is “Your Speculation History.”

The profile “More” menu no longer opens off-screen on mobile, and circle tiles now line up to an even height.

Trait-compound standings are calibrated more honestly: the percentile now accounts for how the underlying HEXACO traits correlate, so a strong-but-not-extreme profile no longer reads as a literal 100th (or 0th) percentile. The recipes were also re-checked against the research.

Send someone a speculation link: share your read of their HEXACO and see — facet by facet — how close you were once they take the test.

Share a comparison between two public profiles with its own link.

Shared profile and comparison links now show a HEXACO “fingerprint” preview card instead of a generic banner.

An in-depth HEXACO guide: a long-form page for every factor and facet, plus a step-by-step “Understanding HEXACO” reader.

Groups: bundle profiles into a named team and see their combined HEXACO make-up — mean profile, distribution, and who you read best.

Results over time: a profile’s verified results now chart band-by-band across multiple assessments.

Trait compounds: studied combinations of your HEXACO traits — each with its behaviour, the specific factor/facet correlations behind it, sources, and confidence — shown on profiles and rankable across a circle or group, plus a HEXACO compatibility score. Framed as standings, not diagnoses.

Share your own profile straight from your profile page — a Share button that hands over the same permanent link you’ll find in Settings.

Delete a profile you created: from its “More” menu, with a confirmation, clearing the profile and everything tied to it.

Editing a profile’s details now opens in a tidy pop-up dialog, alongside Delete in the “More” menu — no more stray buttons at the foot of the page.

“Groups” are now “Circles.” Your whole circle (“Everyone”) sits alongside any circles you create, all in one place.

Tidied up profile pages — secondary actions now live in a “More” menu, with a clearer top-to-bottom order.
